Biodiesel Facilities Tax Credit

The Biofuels Facilities Tax Credit applies to the blending of biodiesel and is designed to assist the industry's preparation for the new requirement that, beginning in 2012, all diesel sold in-state will be "B5," meaning five percent biodiesel blended with 95 percent diesel fuel. ECMD is working to develop biodiesel fuel infrastructure that provides biodiesel market sustainability by making the fuel available, educating the public and promoting biodiesel's use by heavy-duty fleets that are major fuel users. Pilot projects are underway with the New Mexico Department of Transportation to establish biodiesel fueling systems in district offices. Additional Information |
