• conserve petroleum-based transportation fuels;
• reduce vehicle miles traveled;
• improve air quality through reduction of mobile source emissions;
• increase awareness of alternative transportation throughout the region; and
• provide alternative transportation information and referrals.

The program works to achieve these goals by providing carpool contacts, increasing the utilization of multiple occupant vehicles, encouraging non-fuel transportation such as walking and bicycling, trip reduction, public transportation, telecommuting, and the promotion of fuel-efficient commuter vehicles.
