Through an ARRA grant with ECMD, New Mexico Tech has developed a geothermal assessment of New Mexico. This assessment has resulted in an easy-to-use, publicly available web map with data sets that include:

• Location and depth of select existing oil, gas and water wells
• Bottom-hole temperatures from select oil and gas wells
• Water table depths
• Ground water cation and silica concentrations
• Seismicity information
• Ground deformation
• Temperatures at depths of 1, 2, 4, and 6 km
• Shallow heat flow
• Distribution of young (< 2 Ma) volcanic rocks
• Distribution of Cenozoic confining units
• Gravity and aeromagnetic maps as well as land ownership maps depicting state, federal, and private ownership.
