Overview
State Foresters Award
Started in 1995 by then State Forester Toby Martinez (1994 - 2002) to recognize an individual for an outstanding job done in their typical job duties, special project, or other action a cut above. Some years sub-categories were made with multiple recipients. Current State Forester Arthur "Butch" Blazer (2003- ) has returned the practice to be inclusive of one staff member each year. The award is announced in December during the annual division wide meeting with the presentation of a framed certificate, turquoise and silver tree-shaped pin and a day of leave.*
