New Mexico's Big Tree Program tracks the largest recorded trees found throughout the state. Along with a rich history and culture, New Mexico is one of the most diverse states in the nation, encompassing five of the eleven USDA Climate Zones. For this reason, we have a very diverse population of trees that is showcased by our fifteen National Champions!
In New Mexico we value our heritage, our people, and our natural environment. By showcasing “Big Trees”, we celebrate them as symbols of strength, durability, and the quality of life that we provide for the citizens of our state.
