The Financial Services Bureau is fiscally responsible for oversight of state and federal funds in the Energy, Minerals and Natural Resouces Department. Each year the bureau collaborates with the Office of the Secretary and the department's divisions to develop and submit the department's budget request to the State Legislature.
Purchase documents and payments for the department are processed through the Financial Services Bureau's procurement and processing sections. Vendors interested in developing a contract with New Mexico State Government should contact the State Purchasing Division of the General Services Department.
The Financial Services Bureau accounts for cash and wire receipt transactions for the department. It is responsible for accounting and reconciling the department's fixed assets valued at $1,000 or more. In addition, the Support Services section sorts and distributes the mail and handles office supplies. Support Services is in charge of security of the building, records retention and overseeing compliance of OSHA/ADA rules and regulations as well as Loss Control.
