The Abbe Springs Mine Safeguard Project is located approximately 18 miles northwest of the Town of Magdalena, in Socorro County, New Mexico. The project area lies on private land.

The project consisted of two shafts which were dangerous to the public at large. One shaft was approximately 44-foot deep and the other was about 10 feet deep.

The contractor was 4 A's Contractors Inc. based in Penasco, NM.

	This shaft is approximately 45 ft deep.
	A total of 170 cubic yards of material was dumped into the two shaft involved in this project.
	The shaft is backfilled to the surface.
