Bog Canyon Mine Safeguard Project
The Bog Canyon project site consisted of two mine adits which were dangerous to the public at large. The project was located within the Lincoln National Forest in Lincoln County approximately two miles northeast of Ruidoso. The project area was located on federal land in Section 13, Township 11 South, Range 13 East, New Mexico Principal Meridian.
This project involved the following work:
- Backfilling of two mine adits using mine waste;
- Construction of four water bars on the U.S. Forest Service access road
The contractor was Jack Johnson Excavating Inc. based in Alto, NM. This was the contractor's first project with the AML Program.
