The La Ventana Mine Closure Project is located approximately ten miles south of Cuba, NM in Sections 4 and 16, Township 19N, Range 1W and Section 33, Township 20N, Range 1W.

The project consisted of backfilling 16 mine adits and fencing a highwall, all of which are within one-quarter mile from the old Highway 44 (which is now County Road 11).

The contractor was the Farris Mines Inc. of Grants, NM.
