The O'Mara Mine Closure Project is located on private land approximately eight miles southwest of Galisteo, NM. The area falls within Section 32, Township 13N, Range 9E and Section 5, Township 12N, Range 9E. Santa Fe County Road 40 leads to the mine site and is accessed near mile marker 88 on state highway 41.

The project consisted of backfilling 12 coal mine adits and two shafts as well as various other earthmoving activities.

The contractor was the H.N. Green Construction Company of Gallup, NM.
