The Socorro West Maintenance Project - Phase II is located between nine and 17 miles west of Socorro in Socorro County, New Mexico. The project areas (see Figures 1, 2 and 3) are on public and private land in Section 12, Township 4 South, Range 2 West and Section 27, Township 3 South, Range 3 West.

The project involves the following work:

• Backfilling two small shafts
• Construction of large toroid tire plug closures at one subsidence and one stope opening with small toroid mats, geotextile mesh and geotextile cloth.
• Construction of polyurethane foam plug closure, with PVC drainpipe, steel sleeve and grated cover, at one shaft.
• Construction of horizontal bat compatible closure at one stope with corrugated steel pipe riser in a PUF plug and a concrete footing.
• Installation of steel flat bar at four shafts, removal of graffiti at one of these shafts, in the Water Canyon area.
• Temporary access trails will be decompacted, berms built and seeded as required.

The Contractor shall leave all project areas in as good or better condition than before disturbance.
