VPR - Swastika and Dutchman Canyon Reclamation Project - EMNRD-MMD-2011-05

Summary of Work

The Swastika Mine and Dutchman Canyon Reclamation Project is located about 4.5 miles northwest of Raton in Colfax County, New Mexico. The project area is on private land within the Maxwell Land Grant.

The project includes work to safeguard hazardous mine features at the abandoned Swastika coal mine, to stabilize and reclaim abandoned coal gob piles at the Swastika Mine and at Dutchman Canyon, to realign and restore a reach of the Dillon Canyon channel at the Swastika Mine, and to improve an existing evaporation pond that intercepts mine seepage at Dutchman Canyon. Permanent road improvements are required at both Swastika Mine and Dutchman Canyon to accommodate the other work.

Demobilization shall be conducted in such a manner to ensure that the Contractor leaves all project areas in as good or better condition than before disturbance.

The Request for Proposals, the Price Proposal Form and Rate Sheets are available from Property Control Division's web site: http://www.generalservices.state.nm.us/propertycontrol/Procurement.aspx.
