At an altitude of 7,700 feet, Coyote Creek's riparian vegetation provides a variety of scenic, peaceful landscape.
Native trout weighing up to 3 pounds and 12 inches long have been caught in the creek.
Stocked by the NM Dept. of Game and Fish, Coyote Creek is one of the highest stocked parks in the State, per volume of water.
Coyote Creek is abundant in wildflowers and beautiful foliage.
Fishing is enhanced by ponds created along the creek behind small dams created by beavers.
