Living Desert
Pre-School StoryTime
Activities include songs, a story, crafts and a short walk in the park every Friday when school is in session. This program is open to pre-school children ages infant to 5 years old accompanied by adults and is free of charge. The last one will be April 30 until August, when school resumes.

Orion the Hunter
The Amateur Astronomers Group will be sponsoring a tour of the major constellations of the winter night sky, such as Orion. Deep sky objects like the Pleiades Star Cluster will be viewed. Dress warmly, come early and enjoy a beautiful Dog Canyon Sunset. Meet at Group Shelter.

Ranch House Hike
Hike from the Visitor Center to the Oliver Lee Ranch House and back. This 4-mile walk is not rigorous, but plan on at least 4 hours for the walk. Topics discussed will be the desert shrub community and early ranching history. Please bring plenty of water, and snacks. Wear comfortable sturdy shoes and sun protection. Friendly pets are welcome but they must stay leashed while on park property. Meet at Visitor Center.

The Snow Moon
Enjoy the beauty of Dog Canyon at sundown. Watch the moonrise over the Sacramento escarpment. The Snow Moon takes its name from the Algonquin names for the months. Come enjoy stories and myths about the moon. Meet at Group Shelter.
