State Forestry and GIS

Overview

Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is a powerful and useful tool for foresters and wildland firefighters.  New Mexico State Forestry records all activities into a spatial dataset for recordkeeping and analysis. The majority of our base data is available at no-cost from UNM RGIS.

All shapefiles are NAD83, UTM Zone 13N and are compressed as WinZip files.
