Canjilon Lakes
Description: Located on the Carson National Forest up in the high country at almost 10,000 feet. These 2-6 acre lakes are the west at the best. Close on the Continental Divide and surrounded by towering pines and firs these lakes are made for an afternoon of slow paddling/fishing.
Directions: About 40 miles North of Espanola. From Albuquerque go north on I-25 The access road is better to Canjilon Lakes. About 12 miles NE of the town of Canjilon. In rainy or slick weather travel for 2 wheel and 4 wheel drive vehicles is discouraged the few miles of dirt road become a virtual mud bog. In dry weather one can travel with an average 2 wheel drive vehicle
