Charette Lakes Fishing Area
Description: Charette Lakes is a pair of lakes on a treeless mesa southwest of Springer. Charette Lakes are closed November 1 through March 1.
Directions: Southwest of Springer, New Mexico. Go north on Interstate 25 from Albuquerque 179 miles going past Santa Fe and Las Vegas and Wagon Mound. Take exit to SR 569. The only place this 13 mile road goes, besides a couple of posted ranches, and up a twisty steep hill near the end, is to the lakes just up on the mesa.
Water Sports: Too weedy and shallow for swimming. Paddlecraft and car-topable boats with electric motors allowed.

Marina: No facilities. A couple of toilets and picnic tables.
Fishing: Good fishing for 10- to 14-inch rainbows and yellow perch. It is stocked regularly with rainbow trout .
