Stone Lake

Description: Small 450 acre lake on the Jicarilla Apache Lands.

Getting there:  Start from Santa Fe and take U.S. 84 north to Tierra Amarilla, head west on N.M. 95 passing Heron and El Vado Lakes and turning right following Tribal Road J8 to Stone Lake.  Takes about 2 hours from Santa Fe.

Fishing: Seasonal Fishery with trophy size rainbow trout.  See Jicarilla Rules and Regulations Open from April 1 to Nov. 30 for angling with artificial flies and lures only.  Limit is 3 trout per day 6 in possession.

Ramp: Good cement boat ramp

Facilities: Camping and picnic facilities, 3 seasonal port-a-pottys 

Restrictions:  Lake is restricted to "No Wake" operation only.
