Eagle Nest Lake State Park

Located on the Enchanted Circle Scenic Byway, Eagle Nest Lake is surrounded by the stunning scenery of the high mountains of the Moreno Valley. This lake is regularly stocked with trout and salmon. Anglers can fish from the banks or by boat and ice fish in the winter.

At 8,300 feet in elevation, the park offers a cool retreat from the summer heat for fisherman, boaters, campers, hikers and wildlife enthusiasts. An abundance of animals make Eagle Nest Lake an ideal location for wildlife viewing.

Park Elevation 8,196 ft

Effective 12/9/17 Eagle Nest Lake is closed to all types of boating, including kayaks, canoes, inflatables and all types of motor boats. Ice has formed on Eagle Nest Lake and it is no longer safe to boat on the lake, the water temperature is in the 30’s, with anticipation of the entire lake freezing over in the near future.

As ice builds, it will be closely monitored and the lake will open for ice fishing as soon as it is deemed safe.
