Girls of all ages are invited to a Special Weekend event on July 13-14, 2019. Join us to celebrate the new partnership between Girl Scouts of NM Trails and NM State Parks.

Special programming and activities will be held at four NM State Parks: Rio Grande Nature Center, Eagle Nest Lake, Bluewater Lake and Fenton Lake. Badge work is encouraged and a new national patch will be designed to commemorate the event.

Rio Grande Nature Center

Take a guided walk through the Bosque and at the Discovery Pond. Spot and identify the birds who live here and come close to raptors from Wildlife Rescue. Guides will lead various educational nature activities in the afternoon.

Eagle Nest Lake State Park

Eagle Nest Lake

Eagle Nest Lake will present a variety of fun events including a guided nature walk, learn to camp demo, build galileoscope and a moon landing program! Stay overnight and enjoy night sky viewing and campfire stories.

Bluewater Lake

Bluewater invites girls to learn how to fish, the importance of water safety and wilderness survival. There will be raptors and archery too. Take a guided nature hike around the park.

Fenton Lake

Come learn archery and fly fishing! Programs will also include wildfire prevention, wilderness survival and water/paddling safety. Then, identify flowers on a guided nature hike. Camp together and be enchanted!
