Cerrillos Hills, New Mexico's 35th State Park, is a year-round, day-use park located off the Turquoise Trail National Scenic Byway between Santa Fe and Albuquerque. You will cross paths with over 1,100 years of mining history here along the five miles of trails and enjoy spectacular views of the Sandias, Ortiz, Jemez, and Sangre de Cristo mountain ranges. The park has 5 miles of trail among rolling juniper and pinon hills that are accessible year-round for hikers, horseback riders and mountain bikers.
The Cerrillos Hills Park Coalition, a group of dedicated volunteers, started the park along with Santa Fe County Open Space. The Coalition's website has extensive information on the park's history, both ancient and recent.
We have different programs featuring the park's unique resources every month. Visit the Events Calendar to find out what's going on this month.
If you've visited the park recently, please take a few minutes to fill out our Visitor Survey. The information gathered will be used in developing our management plan.
Broken Saddle Horseback Riding Company offers horseback rides through the park. It's a great way to see the views.
