Opt Outside - FREE

Traditionally known as “Black Friday” in the retail world, the day after Thanksgiving can also be a time where families and friends unwind, relax and experience a great adventure at a New Mexico State Park close to home. New Mexico State Parks proudly joins other states by waiving fees on Black Friday in support of a growing number of other organizations who are encouraging people to spend more time outdoors. State Parks will be waiving the $5 day-use fees for all 34 state parks on Friday, November 23, 2018.

2019 First Day Hikes

First Day Hikes in New Mexico State Parks offer an invigorating start to the New Year. Make a New Year’s resolution to your health and happiness by starting off on the right foot in 2019 with a First Day Hike or a Polar Bear Plunge into the lake at a state park. On January 1,New Mexico State Parks will sponsor free, guided hikes in 13 state parks on New Year’s Day as part of America's State Parks First Day Hikes. Polar Bear Plunges will also be held at three parks this year.
