Boston Hill Mine Safeguard Project
The Boston Hill Mine Safeguard Project was located near Silver City, NM. This project closed a subsidence pit and mine opening near the cemetary southwest of town. Blasting was tried to take down the roof of the mine but was unsuccessful. The mine was eventually backfilled with 12,000 cubic yards of mine waste material. Included in the backfilling work were some of the mine openings that were cable netted as part of the Boston Hill Mine Closure Project in 1989.
The contractor was Blair-Turner Construction of Silver City, NM.
